Friedensreich Hundertwasser Jigsaw Puzzles

Friedrich Stowasser, better known as Friedensreich Hundertwasser, was an Austrian artist and architect who also worked for the protection of the environment Hundertwasser is famous for being an opponent of the "straight line". His best known work is the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, which has become a notable landmark in the Austrian capital. Hundertwasser developed artistic skills at an early age. After the war he spent three months at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He went travelling, using a small set of paintings that he carried with him at all times to draw anything that caught his eye. In Florence he met the young French painter René Brô for the first time and they became lifelong friends. Hundertwasser's first commercial success in painting came in 1952-53 with an exhibition in Vienna. In the early 1950s, he entered the field of architecture. Hundertwasser also worked in the field of applied arts, creating flags, stamps, coins and posters.

Birth : 15 December 1928 in Vienna, Austria.
Death : 19 February 2000 (aged 71) aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2.
